INCAPACITANTS

Toshiji Mikawa began by making guitar noise improvisation recordings under the name “Contradictory Bridge” before joining Japanese free improvisation group "Hijokaidan". Years later in 1981, Mikawa decided to focus on pure noise recordings, renaming “Contradictory Bridge” to “Incapacitants” and making several cassettes as a solo artist. Later, when asked to play live, Mikawa performed as a duo with Takahiro Kuramoto. Later followed by live performances with Ai Yamatsuka, ending in 1986 when Mikawa moved to Tokyo from Osaka. In 1991, Mikawa decided to make Incapacitants a duo with Fumio Kosakai and started playing live in Tokyo. Since then, Incapacitants has remained a Mikawa/Kosakai duo performing numerous live gigs and releasing many works.
