arpainter is a DJ, producer, and a co-founder of Japanese electronic dance music label TREKKIE TRAX. Hailing from Yokohama, suburban Tokyo, Carpainter aka Taimei Kawai has been producing UK Garage and Ravey Techno influenced futuristic electronic sounds since his debut album on TREKKIE TRAX in 2012. His releases and remixes on Mad Decent, Lucky Me, Sable Valley, Secret Songs, Moveltraxx, Top Billin, and more, have been supported by genre-less notable DJs like Diplo, Gilles Peterson, RL Grime, A-Trak, Porter Robinson, Virtual Self, Nina Las Vegas, Ryan Hemsworth, Addison Groove, Nightwave, Roska, DJ Shiftee, DJ Q, Nightwave, T.Williams, Royal T, XXYYXX, Giraffage, Big Dope P and many more. His music have been played on BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM, Reprezent Radio, and more, constantly too.
He owns radio program, “TREKKIE TRAX RADIO” with label colleagues, Seimei, andrew and Masayoshi Iimori on “Block.fm”, the biggest domestic dance music radio station. He also succeeded his tour in US, Australia, China and Korea, and finally he performed at BOILER ROOM TOKYO with Kode9 in 2016. The lead single "Changeling Life" from the album, “Declare Victory” has been supported in Gilles Peterson's Worldwide FM (Carpainter also performed Live Set at the radio show), RL Grime’s Halloween VII Mix and also selected for R&S Records’ office favourites playlist on Spotify.
He has produced songs for Major Artists, and these songs are used as theme songs for Famous Japanese TV Shows and Dramas, and ranked No.1 on the Oricon Chart (The Japanese Billboard) and selected as the best song of the year “THE JAPAN RECORD AWARDS”
