Noriko Arashida / Sax Born 1993 in Saitama, Japan. Arashida is a Japanese saxophonist who performs classical pieces. She is particularly interested in seeking ways to engage the audience in contemporary compositions. In 2018, she held her solo recital at Sai-no-Kuni Saitama Arts Theater and performed Karlheinz Stockhausen’s “In freundschaft” in collaboration with Nodoka Shimazawa, a contemporary dancer. Arashida studied saxophone performance at Tokyo University of the Arts under Nobuya Sugawa, Oishi Masanori and Hiroyuki Matsui. In 2020, upon completing her studies at the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts, she received the Postgraduate Acanthus Music Award. Currently, she is on a leave of absence from the doctor's program.
