レーベル「Moon Age Recordings」主宰。27年間開催され続けている東京最長寿テクノパーティー「REBOOT」やレーベルパーティー「MOON AGE」をオーガナイズ。
野外フェスティバル「Metamorphose」及びモンスタービーチパーティー「Maniac Beach」のレジデントDJでもあり、「Fuji Rock Festival」に2度、「ULTRA JAPAN」に2度、そしてアムステルダムで開催されている世界屈指のフェス「Awakenings」にも出演。日本のテクノシーンをリードする存在として常に最前線で活躍している。アジア、ヨーロッパ諸国でプレイする機会も多い。
1995年から作品のリリースを開始し、1998年には自身のレーベル 「Moon Age Recordings」をスタート。その作品群はCarl CoxやSven Vath、Marco BaileyといったトップDJのプレイリストに載るなど、ワールドワイドに高く評価されている。2006年にはQ'HEY + REBOOTとして アルバム「Electric Eye On Me」、2007年にはQ'HEY + SHIN名義アルバム「Planetary Alliance」をリリース。2013年にTorqueからリリースしたアルバム「CORE」はBeatportのテクノチャートで5位を記録。またインターネットラジオ局block.fmの番組「radio REBOOT」のパーソナリティー、アーティスト団体「クラブとクラブカルチャーを守る会」の会長を務めるなど、多岐にわたって活動している。
2020年にHigh in Japanによって公開された岐阜白川郷でのDJセットは、clubberiaが選ぶ日本の絶景DJ動画4選に選ばれた。
Q’HEY is the founder of Moon Age Recordings and the driving force behind REBOOT, Tokyo’s longest-running techno party, now celebrating its 27th year. He also organizes the label’s showcase event MOON AGE.
A central figure in Japan’s electronic music scene, Q’HEY has performed at major festivals including Fuji Rock Festival (twice), ULTRA JAPAN (twice), and the world-renowned Awakenings in Amsterdam. He’s also held long-term residencies at the iconic outdoor festival Metamorphose and the legendary beach party Maniac Beach, continuing to define the sound of Japan’s underground techno.
Since launching his production career in 1995 and establishing Moon Age Recordings in 1998, Q’HEY’s works have gained global recognition, featured in the playlists of techno heavyweights such as Carl Cox, Sven Väth, and Marco Bailey. His albums include Electric Eye On Me (as Q’HEY + REBOOT, 2006), Planetary Alliance (with SHIN, 2007), and CORE (Torque, 2013), which reached No. 5 on Beatport’s Techno Chart.
Beyond the decks and studio, Q’HEY hosts the long-running radio REBOOT show on block.fm and serves as the chairman of the Association to Protect Clubs and Club Culture, advocating for Japan’s nightlife community.
In 2020, his breathtaking DJ set filmed in Shirakawa-go, Gifu—produced by High in Japan—was selected by clubberia as one of “Japan’s Four Most Stunning DJ Videos.”
With a career spanning nearly three decades, Q’HEY remains at the forefront of techno, blending deep experience with an unwavering commitment to pushing the scene forward.
