Junki Inoue
electronic
It is no news that the Japanese are widely known in our scene for having absolutely precise and impeccable techniques as djs and producers. Those that we have come across are extremely knowlegeable about music in general and specifically more so in underground electronic music and those who play present enviable record collections. I would not be exageratting when I say that Fumiya Tanaka is at the forefront of that representation, serving as an example as well as an inspiration for the artists to come. Fumiya is in fact where this story begins, I met Junki Inoue when going to see Fumiya at one of his gigs in London. This starts as a personal affair with surprises never failing to impress along the way, going from a very sweet and enthusiastic young man at the Toi Toi dancefloors all the way to slowly realising an incredible artist at the tender age of 23.
Unlike what is expected of young Dj wanting exposure, with Junki it took us quite a few encounters to come across the fact he was in fact a Dj, he slowly became an integral part of our family where his extensive knowledge of music and impeccable at the craft of mixing records shined through bit by bit.
Junki represents what we want to see in generations to come, at such a young age and with such appreciation and dedication to music and culture (and not only electronic) that goes beyond any boundaries, a never tiring mind and body full of excitement and drive.
This vinyl enthusiast has been collecting and playing records since the age of 16, while in Tokyo he organised his resident party Heike at no less than Womb nightclub. He is also an enthusiast when it comes to other genres of music such as Jazz, Funk, Bossa Nova, etc.
Junki's passion, respect and overall attitude towards Djing and music, plus the amazing human being and friend he is, makes us proud to welcome him to our roster in 2014.
