Dr. Nishimura

Owner of an online record store Sunline Records. DJ and record buyer who has performed at many prestigious clubs and festivals in Japan and abroad. As a buyer, he worked for prominent record stores such as Barong, Cisco House Shop, and Jet Set. This wealth of musical knowledge he has accumulated throughout his 20+ year career is what has earned the honorary name of "Dr.". As the unit DISCOSSESSION with Chee Shimizu, Jonny Nash, Zecky, he was one of the first in Japan to redefine the depth of European disco and pioneering the reconsider of Balearic music. His set backed by these experience and knowledge have earned him the praise of collaborators such as Kenji Takimi, Daniel Wang, DJ Cosmo, Lovefingers, Todd Terje, Beppe Loda. Currently, he is developing "Akuma No Numa (悪魔の沼)" with COMPUMA and AWANO, both of whom are also active as solo artists, creating high-density/intensity grooves from somewhat slower BPMs on the dance floor. Since July 2018, he has been based at Lighthouse Records, a well-known record store in Shibuya, introducing new and exciting releases from around the world.
