May'n made her major debut as a singer in 2005 at the young age of 15. Her works span multiple genres of music, including pop, rock, dance, and R&B, putting on full display her skills as a talented singer. Her music has been featured as the theme songs for many anime, dramas, movies, and video games, and has reached the top of the music charts in Japan on multiple occasions. She has performed solo concerts at venues like Nippon Budokan and Yokohama Arena five times, in addition to conducting domestic and international world tours, visiting such locales as San Francisco, Los Angeles, France, Germany, Korea, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia, with over 90 career live concert performances and closing act performances across seven countries to her name. In 2018, May'n held her first Chinese concert tour entitled "Yīnyuè Bāozi" visiting five different cities, and in 2019 became the first Japanese performer to be honored at the ASIAN MUSIC FESTIVAL 2019 in Shenzhen. In 2018 and 2020, May'n portrayed female lead Toyo Odagiri and supporting character Kazue Watanabe in the first musical based on the works of Akira Kurosawa, "Ikiru", garnering wide acclaim for her portrayal. She also won the Rock Singer Award at the WEIBO Account Festival in Japan 2018, the Best Live Performance Award at the WEIBO Account Festival in Japan 2019, and the Hot Music Video Singer Award at the WEIBO Account Festival in Tokyo 2020, becoming the first Japanese artist to receive awards in three consecutive years. Celebrating her 15th anniversary as a musical artist, May'n released three mini-albums on November 11th, 2020 as part of her "15Colors" project: "15Colors -soul tracks-", "15Colors -unplugged-", and "15Colors -nu skool-". She also released a remix version of her track “I’m alright” from the “15Colors -soul tracks-” album on January 20th, 2021. She continues to enchant her fans both domestically and internationally with her powerful singing ability and vocal range.
