With roots from Taiwan and Japan, Yoshi Nori cut his teeth as a DJ in Chicago during early 2000s. While attending college there, Yoshi Nori got influenced heavily by Ron Hardy like raw Chicago house sound. Combined with minimal side of neo-Detroit, Japan’s 80’s disco, early 90’s UK psychedelic rock, mid 90’s US trip hop and Taiwan’s early 2000’s experimental punk movement, these ecclecic sounds shaped as foundations for his ever unpredictable DJ sets.
Yoshi Nori is also a specialist in injecting customized vibes to fit suitabable dance floors.
For more intimate venues, he presents house music oriented sound that centers around melodic vibe with a touch of disco euphoria. At big room settings he focuses on speedier dub sounds powered by trance, breaks & techno while consistently
incorporating housy basslines to bring his own sonic funk.
After 13 years of exploring the US, Yoshi Nori moved back to his hometown Taipei in 2006. Over the years he has stamped his unique music prints by moving the dance floors from Taiwan’s Organik Festival, Pawnshop, Grey Area, Thailand’s Karma Klique,
Vietnam’s Savage + The Observatory, Tokyo’s Bonobo & Mitsuki, Hong Kong’s Mihn, Seoul’s Nyapi, Singapore’s Outer Bounce & Berlin’s Button, to name a few.
