Tokyo residents Tomoyoshi Date and Corey Fuller met in 2006 through mutual friend and collaborator Chihei Hatakeyama when Fuller was invited to a show at Opitope in Tokyo. Living in separate locations at the time (Date in Tokyo, Fuller in Bellingham, WA), the two began collaborating in 2008 during Date’s first visit to the Pacific Northwest. They have released four full-length albums on New York 12K. They are known for his live performances, including “Perpetual,” a collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto and TaylorDeupree, and has toured Japan and the West Coast of the U.S. In 2023. Tatsuhisa Yamamoto joined as drummer and released “Tobira” on 12K. FFKT features the duo’s In FFKT, the duo performs ambient live sets.
